A Chic & Gorgeous Gown From "azul"

OK,you might be wondering "Is azul a new brand?" Well yes and no. "azul" is a revived brand/store name for Mami Jewell, who had been designing female formal wear at "Styles of edo." She had a small store under the name "azul" before she joined "Styles of edo" as the female outfit designer. She is now bigger and more experienced and has gone independent and restarted her "azul" brand.

This gown has a design that revisits the gown that Mimmi Boa wore when she won the Miss Virtual World contest this month. In the contest, Mimmi wore a white gown with an ancient Roman painting pattern on her skirt. This time, Mami launched both the white gowns and the black gowns with different colour variations for the top bodice part but here, I wore the black one.

The skirt pattern is an image that looks almost "Japanese" with gold used as the main colour. The gown comes with different colour variations for the top bodice part which you see here as gold. But I thought either the gold or the black versions will be the best match for the skirt pattern as this skirt design is the same for all top colours.

The jewelry I wore here are from Bandit Jewelry Shop. I like this store as the designs are modern and stylish. I wanted a modern design here as a contrast to the somewhat classic taste of the skirt design in this gown. The gold and silver used in this set was also perfect to be matched as both of these colours were used in the skirt pattern.

"Cabaret" Costume From Casa del Shai

Casa del Shai has released a costume that was worn by lead actress, Liza Minnelli, in a 1972 movie, "Cabaret." The signature bowler hat look is revived with awesome texture that comes with the bowler hat in the set. It has a hat with hair (worn here) and also one without hair in the set.

Along with this set, the bowler hat with different coloured ribbons, was also released which can be purchased for a vendor placed right close to the costume vendor. So if you like the hat and want to match it with some other outfit you have, you can purchase the bowler hat alone.

For shoes, I used the new Styles of edo pumps that have an impression shine and very nice shape. In SL, there are many nice and decorative shoes but it's not easy to find good shaped shoes that are not only good looking but simple. With this look, however, I wanted something very simple so this pair was perfect!

This could be a nice outfit for dancers who work in clubs too. Look sexy and stylish!

Latex Fashion: Elixir

Elixir is a latex store. So initially I had an image of catsuits, kinky outfits....the usually stuff when you hear "latex." But......how I was wrong! Elixir designer, Khorus Magne, designer and owner of Elixir Fashion said when she thought of starting an outfit store, she couldn't find any good and fashionable latex outfits and SL, so she decided to make her own. The result was a line of very fashionable latex outfits that are sold in parts and components. In other words, you can buy different pieces to combine and make your own style. She also has some set items in her store which you can buy and wear without having to worry over what to match them with what, if that is what you prefer.

All parts come in so many different colours and recently, she added a leopard texture as well. Here, I have worn a leopard/black top with a black shorts called "cheek shorts." I am also showing a black raincoat which will look great with non-latex outfits too like jeans. Although the one I have here is solid colour in black, she also has many fun colours as well as sheer coloured ones.

The boots I wore here are also from Elixir. I use this pair quite often in fact, matching them with all sorts of outfits. I love the soft texture and shape as well as the simplicity of it.

This hair is worth a mention too. It's from that small store that I like in a Japan sim and, as with others in this store that have hats or hair bands, the hair band is texture changing. And all you have to do is click on it. I also think the style is cool too.

azul: A New Brand From Mami Jewell

Mami Jewell, who was releasing gorgeous gowns and dresses under the "Styles of edo" brand, is now selling her outfits as "azul." She has launched an independent store in a new location and brought back the brand that she used to have before joining "Styles of edo." She is now selling two outfits for 100L each, one of which is the purple version of this "eWe" that I am showing you here today. This "eWe" comes in four colour variations as her new release since she opened her new store.

I matched it with a lovely scarf from Zaara. This cashmere scarf also has many colour variations as well as a more plain version in many colours too. I love the way it snuggles around your neck and falls to the front and back, looking so real and natural.

The shoes are from a brand that used to be called "Haysuriza." These shoes have great quality and an awesome shine. They are now sold under the "Styles of edo" brand so you can find all the variations in edo's store. "Styles of edo" owner and designer, edo Tone, says his concept is "to only sell items with good quality. And that leads to selling a dream." And based on that perspective, he chose these shoes made by Hays Uriza to be sold in his store.

I used one of my fav skins, InZane again to complete the look.

Having Some Fun With A Gown :-)

Ok, who said we had to be chic and elegant all the time when we wore gowns? We can have some fun too if you find the right gown for some fun styling.

"Floreale Black Gown" from Clio Pret-a-Porter was exactly such a gown. Black gowns are always the best sellers but you would wear it with an updo or some party hair. Maybe a cocktail hat to add some interest. When I saw this one, I just had to try a completely different look. The flower patterns of the black gown have stunning bright pop colours and the gown was just so sweet!

I am sure you will stand out in a crowd when you go to all these parties that are going now with the holiday season kicking in. I was tp'd to a place while I was still styling this and sure enough, I got "comments." *giggles* The tiny hat I'm wearing is from a Japanese store and the designer, Kumii Yoshikawa has some awesome items including sweet shoes that match this hat. She has many colour variations but they all look almost like candies (this does not mean her whole store is a candy store though). Clio had a white version of this gown, so if I had gotten that one, I would have worn the white/candy pink coloured hat and shoes.

This hair is a funky hair from "Here Comes Trouble." Of course the two notches at the end of the pony tails that stick out were not this colour. I edited them to match the pink in the hat and dress by editing linked parts. A little effort goes a long way but certainly not something you want to do when you have an event you just can't be late and only have 5 more minutes till it starts. On top of that, you still have to choose your shoes, your jewelry, still haven't gone to the rest room and your boy friend is asking you if he should wear a brown hair or a light brown hair.

For a happy holiday season, I think I like this style a lot. Perfect for a party with some fun friends.

From Beauty Avatar's New Collection

Recently I was in a show for Beauty Avatar where we showed the new collection that are now in the store. I have to say, I did not wear the outfit I am going to post about today. But looking at the other models, I fell in love with this one. So ignoring what I wore myself, I went out to get the same outfit that was worn by another model. It's not too "wintery" I have to admit. But it was so sweet and stylish that I made myself a good excuse. "It's not REALLY cold in SL, so who cares?" This was funny as I usually think even if it's not cold, it's good to have seasonality in SL. So I would wear a coat or winter fashion. But when I actually want something that is contradictory to my belief, I make convenient excuses. :P Oh well, don't we all?

So here it is. "Mawen 05" by aida Ewing of Beauty Avatar.

It comes in different colours but this red one was so intriguing maybe because I love red myself. It has that active, positive look. It goes well with active looking boots, which I feel might go better than a very feminine looking pair of shoes to emphasize that active look. I think this will go great with any long or short hair rather than a mid range length. I use short hair a lot, so this time, I tried it with long hair. This one is from R's Style. A very small Japanese store that is not yet known in the non-Japanese sector of SL, but certainly worth checking out. After all, don't we all want hair that not many people know about? The turban that wraps the hair is texture changing by simply clicking on it. So you can easily match it with the outfits you are wearing. They also come in various sizes. So you won't have to struggle to stretch or shrink the hair by editing it yourself (you can tell, I hate editing).

The skin I used here is a skin I had been waiting for! InZane Body Art skins. I blogged about this new skin store when InZane only had goth skins. I fell in love immediately at how she was able to bring contour to goth skins. It's not easy to draw contour with white skin. Since then, I had been waiting for her to launch her regular skins. If they looked that great in goth skins, they must be gorgeous with regular skins. And gorgeous they were! She now has a range from pale to chocolate tone skins. Something for everybody. As imagined, she had great contour for the body and great faces. I particularly like her eye brows and eyes. InZane skins have now become one of my favorite skins for sure.

And last but not least, these boots are a new release from Elixir. Elixir is a latex store but with a lot of style and fashion sense. But even if you're not a latex fan, these boots are worth checking out. There is also a red pair of boots that was launched at the same time. I decided to use the black one as too much red will lose the impact and I wanted a bit more black. I just love the soft and loose look of these boots! I must show the cool latex items they have too. So much I want to show and so little time!

Oh and one more thing. The necklace and earrings are from the Lovable Hearts set from Vincenca Rosca Jewellery, which I already blogged about. But these are the red ones that is in the same set. In my previous blog post, I showed the pink sets. Yes, you get both for one price!

Phew. I had been a bit busy this past week but I had so much to show today!

Eshi Otawara's New Winter/Spring Collection

On December 13 (Sat), Eshi Otawara of Chambre de Chocolat, released her new collection which is now called the Eshi Otawara Collection. A fashion show at the Patch Thibauld Auditorium kicked off her new collection which is now available in her new store at Blumfield.

The entire new collection is inspired by Japan. Eshi's late husband was a martial artist who had great knowledge about Japan and it's culture and likewise, Eshi has a deep love for the culture which was portrayed not only in her new collection, but her new store which is built like an old Japanese house that you might see in Samurai movies.

The collection also has Japanese names such as "Kiku (Chrysanthemum)", "Koi (Carp)", "Kunoichi (female ninja)" and the new limited edition gown she launched together with this collection which she only sold 5 pieces was called "Kabuki". Most of the outfits except for the "Blossoms" series are full of sculpt prim parts that create a very interesting silhouette while the "Blossoms" series look like dainty pants style kimino that looks a bit like a Vietnamese costume. All outfits come in various colour variations.

She now also has skins that match the outfits that resemble Kabuki theatre make-up in her store.

Rather than trying to explain the collection, let me show you some pictures and also a video that was made with the show she did on Saturday.

A Fairy-like Gown From Aischas Fashion

For a change, I felt like wearing a really girly fairy-like gown and I found just the one at Aischas Fashion. As you can see, the gown is basically white but has pink and black in the bodice and prim skirt parts while it's ornamented with pure white frills on the shoulders and both sides of the waist, giving it a fairy like look as well as adding some fun. And look at the fourth picture below. There is a sweet flower pattern on the back of the bodice which looks so sweet from the back.

I guess normally you would match white shoes with this gown but I wanted to play up on the pink in the gown so I wore pink make-up and pink shoes. The skin is from Tuli this time as Tuli Emily skins tend to give me a strong but sweet look, compared to the softer look ISIS from Beauty Avatar gives me.

Jewelry is from my fav store, Lovable Hearts set from Vincenca Rosca Jewellery. You can change the gem and there are 3 different types of necklaces in this one set. The pink heart was so much befitting to my mood at that time. I just felt so sweet and girly. :P

I have added a long shot picture just because the rain forest I came to photo shoot in was so lovely and I wanted to show more of the forest even if it couldn't show the gown as I will be so tiny in the pic here. I just love these beautiful places you can go to in SL.

OMG OMG A New Release Called "Kay"!!!

Anubis Hartunian of Anubis Style released a new outfit called "Kay"!!! She says she visualized me when she designed it! OMG, OMG, OMG!!

I just had a hair called "Kay Fairey" released by a hair creator friend, but now an outfit? This is such a great honour for me and I must say I am more than thrilled but also feel that I have to do my best to respond to this honour!

This is a sweet outfit that looks almost like a baby doll style outfit. But it is not just "cutey" sweet. It's very haute couture too! If you look at the photograph that shows the side view, you will notice that a sculpty prim had been added to give that couture-look collar and both the top part of the outfit and the high waist belt is twisted to add that bit of interest. It comes with a pair of rolled up capri pants that make it look very active and gives it a lively image. But in spite of that, the colour is black/gray, which is a colour scheme that I love! If this was a bright colour, this will be a regular sweet baby doll and it's this colour scheme, that almost looks contrary to the style, that makes this look "haute couture."

To add some fun, I thought I would add a colour, but what colour? After some thought, I decided to go with pink as red will make it look too harsh and pink + gray usually gives a fun result while keeping an elegant look. But at the same time, I didn't want to mess with the great colour she had for the outfit so I decided to add pink with my make up and shoes.

I used a skin from Beauty Avatar called "ISIS" in light skin tone. I wanted a soft look and this skin was perfect for the soft but cool look that I was looking for, although Beauty Avatar does have others that give a harsher and sharper look. I also chose a fun hair and this is what I got.

A Holiday Limited Edition Dress From Chantkare

It's that time of the year when many boutiques release "Christmas dresses" and none other than Chantkare did the same. BUT....it's not a design that screams out Christmas and I can wear it any other time without feeling like the I'm wearing something totally out of season. That's what happens with most of the so called "Christmas" or "Holiday" dresses. You can ONLY wear it during that time of the year and once Christmas is over, it goes deeeeeeeeep inside my inventory, never to come out again. This one from Chantkare, however, is a dress I wouldn't mind wearing in January or any time for that matter, and yet it looks Christmassy if you wore it now!

The top has a one shoulder design with a texture that uses red and green. Chritmassy....yes. But the colours are relatively subdued almost reminding me of country style British fabric for furniture or curtains. I like this a lot. It's elegant for one thing but the red lace layer that shows from underneath adds the fun and makes it a bit sexy too.

The skirt is a lacy prim skirt but there is one bit on the left that uses a different kind of lace, like flower petals, in brighter red. This adds a nice accent to the skirt and I'm loving it! What's more nice is that unlike many limited edition dresses, this outfit is sold for only 275L. I really think this is great value for the lindens you spend.

The skin I am wearing is a Suzana skin from Lion Skins. With all the colours they have for make ups, you can often find one that matches outfits. By the way, the link I have below is for Lion Skin's new store location.

Fun, Fun, Fun at ALB Dream Fashion!

I tp'd to ALB Dream Fashion as I heard that AnaLee had put out an advent calendar. Ooooh those happy and sweet memories! As a child, I used to LOVE advent calendars. Not that you get anything from them but by opening the windows every day, I would count the days till Christmas and the act of opening the small windows itself was so fun!

But this time, you not only get to open the windows everyday, you receive gifts! She said she has all sorts of items in each window, jewelry, outfits, even skins! Now how fun is that!! And AnaLee always puts out great freebies every month! None of them are freebie quality. The monthly free gifts are usually a complete outfit set that can include even skins and different sets of jewelries. Even if they are not for free, I love her dynamic and So even without seeing what I get, I know this must be good. Well it started from December 1 so if you haven't gone yet, you've already missed some days. So hurry down before you miss any more!

And when you get there, don't forget to click around. She has also scattered various free gifts as well as very low priced items in her store. It's almost like a treasure hunt, only that the gifts are not hidden. They are out there, but just may not look like gifts.

AND have some more fun while you are there. There is a skating rink outside the store, where you can get male and female skate shoes for free. There is also a lovely and charming snow covered garden where you can take a ride on a merry-go-round, buy gorgeous cushions and rugs you see placed here and there (and they are nice too! If only I had more prims.....sighs) or even enjoy a snowball fight! I was alone when I went there and when I saw a snowman that had a message that said I could get a snowball to throw and a collider for free, I thought to myself "damn! It's no fun snowball fighting on my own. :-( " But when I took the snowball and collider anyway, there was a notecard that came with them that said I could even buy the snowball giver for free!! Yay! This means, I can rez this anywhere I like and let my friends take the snowball and collider also! And the collider that comes with it will make you fall if you get hit. Now THAT's some FUN! And I don't even have to tp my friends here for them to get the snowballs! By the way, the snowman holding the giver was free too. This will be a great set up for a Christmas party!

So I came back home with a huge smile on my face. I not only got a lot of great items for free, I had so much fun and even enjoyed a nostalgic and sweet time remembering my childhood days. Seriously, this advent calendar is something you really don't want to miss.

Have fun!!

The HUGE advent calendar placed on the right wall outside the entrance to the store.

OC Orage Creations - A Gown For An Elegant Night Out

OC Orage Creations is another great name in Italian fashion whose creations can be found in the Best of Italian sim, which is one of my favorite shopping places. I never stop to wonder why Italian people are so talented in design and creation which is true not only in SL but in RL as well. Elletra Gausman is no exception. Her designs are dynamic, creative and sophisticated giving much pleasure to many fashionistas in the SL virtual world.

Here I am wearing Marvel Dress, which is one of her recent releases. It is a simple dress made with silky taffeta like material that has a tight fit to the body without any big prim skirt that poofs out from the waist. Instead, it had a very big ribbon set on your back which adds that sweetness while maintaining a very elegant look to it.

I matched it up with a black pearl jewelry set from Bandit Jewelry Shop. The necklace is this set is a three strand necklace with diamond ornaments that add an interesting touch to the design and matches this otherwise simple but elegant dress.

The hair is from Exile and also one of my favs. The ribbon colour can be changed by clicking on it and choosing the colour from a drop down menu that appears.

This can be a nice dress to wear to a classy formal Christmas party.
