Gasqhe - A New Couture Designer

Recently, there seems to be many new couture designers which I welcome with open arms as they really enrich the depth and fun of fashion in Second Life. One of such designers is Karija Azalee of Gasqhe, which has a line of couture designs that center around gray scale colours.

Gasqhe, Jeynne + Mischief Fashion, Bow Baby Leggings (cocoa)

Her outfits in general have very interesting silhouettes and shapes and because they are relatively simple and mostly in gray scale colours, they tend to be fun items to mix and match with other brands or worn alone to create very simple but sophisticated looks.

Here, I am wearing "Jeynne" which is a cream coloured mini dress and matched it with a cute pair of leggings from Mischief Fashion. I also used a hat from glow Studio instead of a flower hair accessory in the same matching cream colour that came with the outfit, creating a smokey toned look that is both playful and elegant.

Worn with glow Studio, Cloe Hat and I'm Your Present Ring (free gift)

As an accent to the entire look, I wore the "I'm Your Present Ring" also from glow Studio which was a free gift that I absolutely loved. The bright red of the ring broke the entire smokey tone adding some interest to an otherwise very soft look that tended to lack in impact.

2nd Post On Yomeshoujo!

The links given to Yomeshoujo seems to have been wrong. I don't know why this happened but the coordinates changed on its own after I copy and pasted it. This has now been fixed so the links should take you to the store. I apologize for the inconvenienced caused.

OK...so this is my second post on Yomeshoujo. In the first post which I posted a few days ago, I showed one outfit that was a very creative mini dress that uses a very fun and interesting texture. The second post is another very colourful dress that can be worn in several different styles.

Yomeshoujo - TPCL

This outfit is called TPCL by Yomeshoujo. It comes with three different types of prim skirts and a chest prim part that you can use selectively to style it differently.

I used the cute nails and earrings from Candy Nails again but this time with the "secret colour" nails and green earrings you can get from the gacha machine (please read my previous post for details about the gacha machines). I also added a bright pair of stockings and shoes to bring out the fun of colours in this look.

The shoes are a recent release from Baiastice that comes in really fun colours and the buttons that are attached to the heel part really make this a cute pair to style with outfits like this one. The stockings I wore was a Christmas gift from Styles of edo that I got last Christmas so unfortunately these are not available now but I am sure you can find similar funky coloured stockings or tights if you want to create a similar look.

Baiastice - Camilla Shoes (acid green)

I should go back to Yomeshoujo now as I've also fallen in love with some of the funky pants she had but didn't want to buy out her store in one visit. I like the fun to last. :P

Mini Dress: Yomeshoujo, TPCL
Stockings: Styles of edo, Stockings For Ladies (pink)*
*This was a 6 colour set of stockings that were given as Christmas gifts last year and therefore not on sale.
Earrings: Candy Nail, #Gacha Toy Pierces 03 Green
Nails: Candy Nail, #Gacha Toy Nails 08 Secret colour
Shoes: Baiastice, Camilla Shoes (acid green)
Hair: Little Heaven, Fabienne (black)

Yomeshoujo - A Fun And Creative Brand From Japan

Phew! I hadn't been able to post for so long with so much going on in-world and in RL. >.< But today, I was determined to make a post since I had taken the pics some time ago but never had the time to edit the pics nor to post.

I wanted to introduce a really fun and creative brand from Japan called Yomeshoujo. I am not sure what the name means because "yome" means "wife or better half" and "shoujo" means "maiden or girl". So maybe it means "a very young wife" or "girly wife"? At least that's what it literally means.

Anyway, I wasn't going to make a post about its name. I wanted to introduce this brand because it is a very different type store from any Japanese brand you might know nor is it similar to any non-Japanese brand. It is indeed a store with very unique but lovely outfits that are really fun to style. I have pics for two outfits so I will make two posts about Yomeshoujo in a row.

The first one is called AnLi. The silhouette and shape of the outfit is very unique but so are the colours used and I just love the creativity of designer, youki Cioc. youki's designs are just so colourful and the moment you tp to her store and things start to rez, you will be surprised to see the explosion of colours that somehow create a very unique "youki world".

Yomeshoujo - AnLi

I accessorized this fun outfit with earrings and matching prim nails I got from Candy Nail. These are not on sale in vendor but they were prizes for gacha gacha, which are like bubble gum vending machines but instead of bubble gum, they contain plastic balls with small items inside. There are pretty big in RL Japan too! At Candy Nail, there were two gacha machines, one for earrings and one for prim nails.

The prices are usually quite low but the catch is that you can't choose which item you will get. In other words, in this case, there were seven colours and one secret colour each for both the earring gacha and the prim nails gacha. So if you tried to get matching colours, you might end up with lots of blue earrings or red nails, for example. But I must say, it was fun and the cute candy coloured earrings and prim nails were worth trying my luck with a little investment.

The eighth secret colour, by the way, was a multi-coloured pair of earrings and prim nails! Too cute!

Mini Dress: Yomeshoujo, AnLi
Shoes: Stiletto Moody, Bare Robin (Wild Set), Kaleido 1 colour
Hair: Tukinowaguma, Kara A (ebony)
Earrings: Candy Nail, #GACHA Toy Pierces 07 Purple
Prim Nails: Candy Nail, #GACHA Toy Nail 07 Purple

QUEENS - Katerina: An Impressive Gown

The very first time I wore anything from QUEENS was when I was in a half panic, not knowing what to wear, only 30 minutes before the start of the finals for Mr. Virtual World that was held on June 6. I was running out of time and I had no idea what I should wear nor had I anything styled.

So out of desperation, I decided to teleport to a new store I had never yet visited. That was QUEENS, a relatively new brand which I had always wanted to visit but hadn't yet found any time to go shopping.

QUEENS was a very elegant store with lots of very attractive outfits. It had a lot of gorgeous gowns as well as some very dressy cocktail dresses. Since that day, this is still my second QUEENS gown which my beloved partner Aris sent to me a few days ago.

Katerina is a gown that has a very big skirt that is all lace. The bodice part uses both lace and solid fabric with a very elegant cut which was almost fresh to the eye that has grown accustomed to the very revealing and bold cuts that you see often in the market.

I decided to style this to make a very classic and authentic look and matched it with a diamond jewelry set from Virtual Impressions. Red nails and lip colour add the finishing touch to this classic elegance.

Gown: QUEENS, Katerina
Jewelry: Virtual Impressions, Cheryl Jewelry Set in Platinum & Diamonds
Nails: Candy Nail, #P006 Long Nails Red
Hair: BooN, XFE275 Hair (Black)

Mixing and Matching

One of the things we do a lot when we style ourselves is mixing and matching different outfits. Of course you do that when you are wearing casual clothing such as a top from one brand and a bottom from another. But more so than ever, we are seeing cases where we need to pull different parts of an outfit from different brands to create one outfit in order to have something unique.

I don't usually show these "looks" in my blog because it wouldn't do much for the designers who, I am sure, prefer to see their outfits intact rather than torn apart.

But today, I got a shot of a "look" that I was very happy about. I am not a professional photographer nor do I claim that Iam good since I suck at photoshop skills which means I need to rely a lot on what I can do in-world to make my pics look somewhat ok.

So I decided to post this one as I was rather happy with the outcome.

This was a "look" I made by mixing a mini dress from VUI called "Marbled Little Diva (pink/blue)" with the skirt part from a Gothic wedding gown by Miamai called "Kay". What I tried here was to create an elegant gown without losing the soft feel of the mini skirt which is why I avoided long skirts that tend to have straight flexi prims. The skirt from this Miamai gown worked perfectly since the prims are not simple straight prims but rather twisted, forming a soft image. The angle at which it spread out was perfect too so the two skirts didn't look disconnected.

Outfit: VUI "Marbled Little Diva (pink/blue)" + Miamai "Kay"
Earrings: Alienbear Design, Kielo Earring white
Shoot location: Immersiva
